Active Directory
Active Directory (AD) is a directory service that's implemented by Microsoft for Windows domain networks. It is included in most Windows server operating systems. Additionally a Active directory authenticates and authorizes all computers and users in a Windows domain type network and by enforcing security policies for all computers and installing or updating software.Active Directory also makes use of the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol and is also compatible with both version 2 and version 3.
